• Need ATV internal Reverse Diagram of GY6 Final Drive

November 2019 Forum Retirement
Due to lack of extra personal time (and too much spam), I'm retiring the forum and setting it to a read-only state. No new registrations or posts will be accepted as of 11/09/19. However, all information will stay up and searchable. If you spend a few minutes searching, you'll find the answers you're looking for. We may re-open the forum next spring.

Hi, I am new to this forum :D . I am searching for an internal reverse diagram for an ATV GY6 final drive. I have a broken shifter fork F-N-R :( . When I took it apart a ball bearing fell out and I can't find where it goes back in. I have a chinese atv JCL-MAU-150-A. I also need a service manual of this model.
Any help is greatly appreciated  .
Thanks,
Dan

Use this service manual to work on your ATV:

Here are some links to help you with your reverse:

The engine and transmission parts exchange between GY6 engines unless your valve cover is held on with two bolts (SUNL). If you are looking for performance upgrades or parts replacement, most of the parts can be found here.

Thanks for the reply. I may have forgotten to mention that my GY6 is a 1P57QMJ (Bigger and taller head and timing chain) It is made in Taiwan. It's not a 157QMJ that most people have in their buggies, atv's and scooters. My reverse is in the final drive case. I believe its desigation is a GY6B engine.
That might be where the confusion maybe. Sorry.

You may not be able to fit the cam or other top end components, but CVT and intake upgrades/replacements will still work on your engine. The service manual is close enough to your engine that all the tolerances and troubleshooting apply to your engine. The reverse works in a similar fashion as the external unit, but some of them operate backwards where forward is engaged when the cable is taunt. The Yerf-Dog CUV uses the internal type reverse along with some Baja, Tomberlin and Hammerhead buggies.
