I'm trying to take the case off to replace the belt on a kandi spyder buggy. I've removed all the 8mm bolts holding the case on. I also removed the bolt that mounts the muffler to the side of the case but I cannot remove the other nut that is pressed against the case. When I turn it left or right the threaded part of the bolt that the muffler nut was originally attached to just spins in place. In the picture the first nut was for the muffler....the second one against the case is the one I can't remove

There is no need to remove the muffler mount, it doesn't attach to anything inside except the CVT cover itself.

From your description, the the CVT cover may be moderately seized to the case. There are typically two tabs along the perimeter of the cover that can be used to tap it off.
