spider yerf dog electrical problem

is there suppost to be a ground wire from the starter to the engine or frame?? because the battery is good the ground wires are good and its having a hard time turning the engine over and i dont want anything to get burned up and the starter is good too

The starter is grounded through the mounting bolts and case. The battery and swing arm should also be grounded to the case.

Make sure the heavy lines off the battery and solenoid are tight. Short across the solenoid posts to see if the solenoid is beginning to fail.

how do i know if its starting to fail?

If the starter spins strong when shorted across the solenoid terminals and not when the solenoid is activated, the solenoid is beginning to fail.

its fine but im still haveing the problem with wires getting hot and the kart seeming like there is no power to start up and that means its a ground correct?

Which wires are getting warm? It could be a wire that is chaffing against the frame or a bad rectifier.

the ground wire out of the rectifier was burning hot so i put a new wire in and it hasnt gotten hot so i probably just need to get a new one

That's usually a sign the rectifier has failed and is shorting out. Measuring resistance across the rectifier output while removed will tell you if it is shorted. Do not run it this way because it will burn up your stator. If a wire burns up there is a short in your system that needs to be corrected and not just replace the wire.
