Re: CVT Belt

Hello i'm new i'm having a transmission problem. Ok first off when I got this kart we niticed that the trans felt like the belt was slipping. I took it off and measured it it's a 743-20-30 and it had the correct specifications. So firstI replace the rollers with DR. Pulley sliders and that didnt solve it. So we then though "Clutch" and that didnt solve it either. Now I ordered a new belt because when you pinched both ends together they almost touched each other. I just dont get it!!!. Could it be the cdi Limiter. When I bought the kart the guy said he replaced the electronics and i thought that he did everything right, but after today i noticed that on the cdi it says GY-125 and a bunch of other numbers could this mean that the cdi is for a gy6 125. Should i get a racing cdi? Imput could really help right now.

Most likely the belt is not slipping, but the clutch is. Pull the clutch bell and check the pads and clutch arm springs. If it really is the belt slipping, it is a problem with the clutch pulley or torque spring behind the clutch. Your ignition will not cause the belt to slip.

I'm pretty sure that it's not the clutch because we just ordered a whole new clutch assembly with a new bell, clutch, and driven pulley. It would be crazy if this new clutch was slipping because we got it 3 days ago and have only ridin the kart twice with the new clutch. I have a question ok first i just installed 8gm sliders ok. Second a new clutch assembly 'STOCK'. Could the stock torque spring be my problem if everything else is correct?

I'm having a CVT problem when I go full out throttle my cvt variator and the driven pulley go out nice and smooth with my new 8gm sliders. But the problem is it does'nt feel like i have any low-end or high-end but all the components in the cvt are working. could it be the belt? I have recently just put on a new STOCK clutch assembly because i thought that my clutch was slipping but that didnt solve it either. Also has new rings.

Anything else that could cause my go kart to have this problem?

If the pulley is hanging up behind the clutch or the spring is worn, belt tension will not stay tight and cause the belt to slip.

8g sliders are extremely light and will make the engine rev much higher through its operating range. If the engine is tuned correctly, you should have good low end with a loss of top end.

But that cant be it because we just replace the whole clutch assembly with a new one could it still be the torque spring?

I'm needing help with my cvt in my Carter TALON fx 150 2r it seems as if there's no low-end or high-end. It has high rpm but no power to the wheels. I'm Wondering if it could my torque spring or my belt? A month ago i ordered new DR. Pulley sliders 8gm and a new clutch assembly to saolve this problem, but no luck. I really could use some help i'm new at forums.

When you installed the sliders, did you follow the directions for proper orientation? Did you make sure the sliders stayed that way when you put everything back together?

Here is a good link on how the CVT should look when properly running:

http://www.buggydepot.com/buggy-tech-ce ... gines.html

If the belt is slipping, it has to be a problem with the front or rear pulley.
