SERIAL NUMBER ON MY YERF-DOG

I can't seem to find the serial number on my yerf, Dmv won't register it since I
dont have any paperwork on it, I hear that it is on the engine, do I need to remove
the cover on the drivers side? YERF-DOG made in 2004 150cc howhit motor model 3206

The VIN number for the buggy was on a label on the CVT cover and and second one under the driver seat. If these labels are gone, there is a serial number on the engine you can use - This number is etched into the engine casing below the CVT cover.
